When you use Gabfest, we collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, phone number, and profile details during account creation. We also collect usage data including conversation logs (text and voice), grammar test responses, learning progress, session duration, and feature interactions. Additionally, we collect device information such as device type, operating system, app version, and general location (country/region) to optimise your experience. If you use Gabfest as a Guest or Free user, Google AdMob may also collect certain device information when advertisements are displayed, as described in the "Advertising" section below.

We use your information to deliver and personalise the Gabfest learning experience, including AI-powered conversations, grammar feedback, pronunciation analysis, and progress tracking. Your conversation and test data helps our AI provide more accurate corrections and adapt to your proficiency level. We may also use aggregated, anonymised data to improve our AI models, develop new features, and enhance overall app performance. We use your contact information to send important service updates and, with your consent, learning tips and product announcements.

Gabfest sends your microphone audio, transcribed speech, and text messages to our AI processing partners — Google LLC (Gemini API, United States) for response generation, grammar feedback, and pronunciation analysis, and Deepgram, Inc. (United States) for real-time speech-to-text transcription. Audio is processed in real time and is not retained by either provider for model training. Your name, email, and phone number are never shared with the AI services. Before your first AI conversation, the app requests your explicit consent via an in-app dialog. You can withdraw consent at any time by signing out or deleting your account, after which conversation data is removed from our servers within 30 days.

Gabfest is an AI-powered learning app. Conversation features (voice calls, text chats, pronunciation feedback, interview practice, and scenario practice) transmit your microphone audio, transcribed speech, and text messages to AI processing partners — Google LLC (Gemini API) for response generation and grammar/pronunciation feedback, and Deepgram, Inc. for real-time speech-to-text transcription. Before your first AI session, the app displays a consent screen that names these providers, describes what data is sent, and requires you to tap 'Agree & Continue' to proceed. Declining consent prevents the AI features from operating; non-AI features (settings, grammar MCQ tests, progress dashboard) remain available. We confirm that each provider's data-processing terms offer protections equivalent to those described in this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by signing out or deleting your account.

We take the security of your data seriously. All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS encryption. Your account is protected with secure token-based authentication with automatic refresh. We store data on secure, access-controlled servers and conduct regular security audits. We retain your personal data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. You may request deletion of your data at any time.

Gabfest relies on the following third-party services, each bound by contractual data-protection obligations that provide privacy protections equivalent to those described in this policy: • Google LLC (United States) — Gemini API for AI conversation generation, grammar feedback, and pronunciation analysis; Firebase Authentication (Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In token verification); Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications); Firebase Analytics (anonymised usage statistics). See policies.google.com/privacy. • Deepgram, Inc. (United States) — Real-time speech-to-text transcription. Deepgram processes microphone audio in real time to produce text transcripts used by the AI conversation engine. Audio is not retained for model training. See deepgram.com/privacy. • Apple Inc. (United States) — Sign in with Apple identity verification. Apple does not receive any conversation or usage data. See apple.com/legal/privacy. • Cloud infrastructure providers — Encrypted-at-rest storage for account, conversation history, and progress data. In addition, Gabfest uses Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google LLC, to display advertisements to Guest and Free users. Information processed by Google in connection with advertising is described in the "Advertising" section below and is subject to Google's own privacy policy. We do not sell, rent, or trade your name, email address, phone number, or conversation content to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes. We periodically review each provider's privacy practices to confirm continued equivalence with this policy.

Gabfest uses Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google LLC, to display advertisements to eligible users of the Gabfest app for Android and iOS. • Who sees advertisements — Advertisements may be shown to Guest and Free users. Basic, Premium, and Enterprise users do not receive these advertisements. Currently, advertisements appear as a banner on the Home screen. • Information processed for advertising — When an advertisement is requested, the Google Mobile Ads SDK included in the app may collect information from your device and send it to Google. This may include your IP address, device and app information (such as device model, operating system, and app version), advertising interaction data (such as ad views and taps), diagnostic information, and, on Android, your device's advertising ID. Google and its advertising partners may use this information to serve, measure, and limit the frequency of advertisements, to personalise advertisements where permitted, and to help prevent fraud and abuse. • What Gabfest does not include in ad requests — Gabfest does not send your name, email address, phone number, conversation content, voice recordings, or learning progress to Google AdMob as part of ad requests. • iOS tracking permission — Gabfest does not currently request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission on iOS, and does not ask for access to your device's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA). • Personalised and non-personalised advertisements — Advertisements may be personalised or non-personalised, depending on applicable privacy requirements, your consent and preferences, and Google's advertising configuration. Non-personalised advertisements are based on general contextual information rather than your past activity. • Your advertising choices — Where applicable, you may have options to make, change, or withdraw your advertising and privacy consent choices, including through privacy controls provided in the app when available. On Android, you can reset or delete your device's advertising ID in your device's Ads settings. Upgrading to a Basic, Premium, or Enterprise plan removes these advertisements. Gabfest is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time through your account settings or by contacting our support team. You can request a copy of all data we hold about you (data export). You may withdraw consent for optional data processing (such as marketing communications) at any time. You can also request that we restrict or stop processing your data in certain circumstances. We will respond to all valid requests within 30 days.

Gabfest's leaderboard feature is strictly opt-in. By default, your scores and ranking are never uploaded or visible to other users. When you choose to join a leaderboard from the Leagues screen, the app explicitly asks for your consent and only then begins sharing your display name and weekly points with the leaderboard service. You can leave a leaderboard at any time from the Leagues screen, after which your data is removed from public rankings. We do not share your email, phone number, or conversation content with the leaderboard system.

Gabfest uses minimal cookies and local storage to maintain your authentication session, remember your preferences (such as theme and language settings), and ensure the app functions correctly. Gabfest does not use its own cookies for advertising. For Guest and Free users of the mobile app, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may use device identifiers and similar technologies to serve and measure advertisements, as described in the "Advertising" section. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser or device settings.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or via email. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of Gabfest after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
